Het Arresthuis Hotel in Roermond, the Netherlands has an interesting heritage which goes back to 1862 when it absolutely was a jail. The jail are already abandoned for years and was eventually closed in 2007.
Dutch lodge gang Van der Valk then took around and transformed the 105 prison cells right into a 40-room high-class boutique hotel. There are thirty six rooms and 4 suites called Director Suite, Warden Suite, Lawyer Suite and Judge Suite.
All rooms have advanced interior design and furnishings, though the initial jail cellular doors have been retained to protect the building’s history.
