J. MAYER H. und Partner, Architekten has been named the winner of the invited competitors for Volt Berlin, a new concept for a place for buying and urban encounter near Berlin’s Alexanderplatz.

The encounter cluster is a fusion idea combining a multi-brand shop, different experiential offerings, occasions, and a hotel, and is directed towards adventurous guests with a focus on a wise urban life style.

The massive urban creating complex is organized according to its various usages in many smaller boxes that are positioned in an uneven grid. One particularly striking factor of the style is the luminous horizontal glazed line that runs like a stress fissure all the way through the building.

This intermediate area, located at the level of the train viaduct, will host the center’s most critical attractions: indoor- skydiving and a surf wave. This energy line will exude into the urban area close to the center, although Berlin and the fast spot all around Alexanderplatz will often be current as a place and a backdrop.
